HOW LASER TATTOO REMOVAL WORKS
Laser tattoo removal is an exciting procedure that provides people with a second chance. When a tattoo is applied, a needle deposits ink particles in the skin’s dermis, the deepest layer of skin. Immediately upon embedment, the immune system recognizes the tattoo ink as a foreign substance and sends white blood cells to engulf them. The white blood cells then carry the ink through the lymphatic system to be processed and naturally disposed of.
Although the white blood cells continuously eat away at the ink, most of the ink particles are too large and too deep to be removed by the blood cells. This explains why tattoos are permanent but fade and lose color over time. Laser tattoo removal helps speed up the natural fading process by breaking up the large ink particles. During a treatment, our Duality laser emits ultra-quick pulses of light energy onto the tattoo. The ink particles in the tattoo absorb the light energy, heat up, and shatter into tiny fragmented pieces. These shattered particles are much easier for your body’s white blood cells to remove.
Multiple treatments are needed to achieve complete ink removal. You will see your tattoo fade more and more after each treatment until no ink is visible in the skin. For more details about the process of laser tattoo removal, please visit our FAQ page.
ABOUT OUR LASER
Tattoo Removal Ink has invested in the industry-leading Astanza Duality laser to perform all of our treatments. This cutting-edge technology is trusted by tattoo removal specialists worldwide and is used exclusively at our Florence clinic. Our investment in the Astanza Duality stems from our belief that every patient deserves the best care and results when it comes to transforming their skin.
The Duality is a powerful Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that uses ultra-quick pulse durations paired with high pulse energies to create strong peak power for effective ink shattering and faster fading. The Duality emits two of the most trusted wavelengths for tattoo removal, 1064 nm and 532 nm. Combined, these wavelengths are able to remove a wide variety of ink colors safely across all skin types.
Furthermore, the Duality uses a homogenized square-spot beam that is designed to minimize treatment overlap. Overlapping laser pulses can create an uneven energy application on the skin, leading to unwanted side effects and skin pigmentation for sensitive and darker skin types. The Astanza Duality’s square beam minimizes this risk and allows for more precise ink targeting and safer application, especially on darker skin tones.
T.R.I.'s equipment, training and dedication will maximize your prospects for successful and permanent tattoo-removal.
