HOW LASER TATTOO REMOVAL WORKS
Laser tattoo removal is an exciting procedure that provides people with a second chance. When a tattoo is applied, a needle deposits ink particles in the skin’s dermis, the deepest layer of skin. Immediately upon embedment, the immune system recognizes the tattoo ink as a foreign substance and sends white blood cells to engulf them. The white blood cells then carry the ink through the lymphatic system to be processed and naturally disposed of.
Although the white blood cells continuously eat away at the ink, most of the ink particles are too large and too deep to be removed by the blood cells. This explains why tattoos are permanent but fade and lose color over time. Laser tattoo removal helps speed up the natural fading process by breaking up the large ink particles. During a treatment, our Duality laser emits ultra-quick pulses of light energy onto the tattoo. The ink particles in the tattoo absorb the light energy, heat up, and shatter into tiny fragmented pieces. These shattered particles are much easier for your body’s white blood cells to remove.
